Modern Day Slave

People fail to see what another has done and what they do everyday to be here. The miracles exist within their face. Known by their struggle. Taken in by every breath. Yet it is not known what the person has to do to get to work. How they provide for those within their house. Things we have yet to know about those we see everyday.
Did you realize they may have to go hungry for their kids to eat? Are you aware they may have to wash their clothes by hand in order to present them self as doing fine? The secrets they keep inside may scare those that don't know. The truth of their life will shock those that read it.
These people walk silently among us. Holding back tears. Swallowing all bitterness, putting on a smile. Greeting you, waiting upon your tables, these people are silent heroes. Showing despite all opposition, they are willing to try. These people we fail to notice, we overlook them.
Society calls these people leeches, but they are the same ones that cleans your toilets, scrub your floors. Paying them a wage they can not live on. But it is them that we can count on to do their work without question or objection.
