My Play

A thousand years
A thousand screams
Still living within a nightmare
Chains replaced by proverty
Starving people to crime
Denying opportunities
Many claim its fair
But which side of the fence are they on
Each day
We settle for less
Living onfringes of society
Treated worst than abused animals
Turning away from my tears
Claiming equality
But divided by so much
Weighing my soul
I'm cast aside
Another's amusement
See my tears
May they fill your bottle
Look upon my struggle
Yet you give to another
Demanding so much from me
Things you're unwilling to do
Calling me out my name
But it means nothing
Lies you tell
But my truth goes unheard
