Denied opportunities given to others
Denied justice due to means
Credit score denying from employment
Its hard to teach my child to love
The stories of my fathers is filled with struggles and hate
Lying to my son
Saying skin color isn't important anymore
When crossing the streets, car doors lock
Women quickly readjust their purse
Grabbing it tighter
The first to be stopped the police
How can I lie to my son
Telling him to love his fellow man
In the name Jesus, many have died
Everyday I find it hard to pray
Feeling like a stranger to my son
Working two jobs
Along with slipt shifts
Keeping him from the ghetto
Working below my skills
Cleaning for many
Compensation meager
Equality seems to be a dream
