A soldier
Fighting for change
My goal is acceptance
But settling for respect
Fighting against opposition
While fighting against myself
Seeing mistakes made
Allowing them to be my lessons
Looking towards the future
While being haunted by my pass
Each day I grow old
Being rejected and looked down upon
But respected by the same
Not claiming to be a hero
Only a man
Playing a part in life
